Additional Pai Gow Rules
Something that must not be forgotten in Pai-Gow Poker is that the placement, on the table, of the five-card high hand must be higher than the two-card low hand. Anyone who sets their cards in the wrong place will be disqualified and lose automatically. Don’t worry. Most casinos have dealers who will assist you in this placement. The dealer will automatically set the bank for a player. The location of the bank varies from casino to casino.
While the Joker is wild, it must follow some rules. The Joker can only be used to complete a straight, flush, or straight flush; otherwise it is treated as an ace.
The house will not be ignored. Even when the player wins both bets and on the net win of the banker, the house gets a 5% commission.
The house receives a commission on all winning hands, collected immediately. A win pays even money.
If you, the player would like to bank, you must have enough money on the table to broker your share of the bets. What this means, my friend, is that you have to be able to cover all the bets on the table. This isn’t to be taken lightly. In addition, the player must have played a previous hand against the house banker to bank.
If you decide to bank, the dealer will also play against you, the banker, with a bet equal to your last bet against the house banker.
At some casinos the dealer may deal what’s called a "dragon" hand. This hand is open to any player who wishes to play two positions rather than one. Not bad, if you’re hot!
